Spades

1

Spades correspond to the season of Winter when seeds lie dormant in the ground awaiting rebirth. What was felt, thought, and then put to good use must now come to an end, before it begins yet again.

2

In the four elements, Spades represent air, the subtlest and most powerful force of life. Indeed, it is only with air in our lungs that we have the power of life within us.

3

The Spade is actually an acorn (the seed of the Oak tree), and it corresponds on the human body to the pineal gland, the master gland at the center of the human head. The pineal gland is often called “the seat of the soul” and is experienced meditatively as the “third eye” of psychedelic vision.

4

Spades symbolize consciousness – the visions, dreams, and beliefs that are both the seeds of new life and the existential ground of our being. For what we believe is the fundamental force that drives us! And people born to play a Spade card as either their primary or secondary pattern are the imagination movers of life. They have the inner vision, and thus the inner drive, to get the job done.

5

Spade-based people have seemingly inexhaustible energy to re-make and refresh life. And while some Spade-based people can be lost in dreamy fantasies, most tend to be die-hard workaholics. They may not know how to rest or take a break. But they do all the work necessary to compost what was, overturn what is, and recreate the ground of our being.
